Revised state telecomm policies issued

The Ohio Office of Information Technology recently issued the following revisions to State of Ohio IT
policy pursuant to §125.021 of the Ohio Revised Code and Executive Order 2004-02T:
 
ITP H.2 Use of State Telephones - Provides updated requirements regarding the appropriate use,
management and reimbursement of wired and wireless state telephone service.
ITP H.6 Telecommunications Utility Services - Defines modified requirements concerning the
acquisition of telecommunications utility services such as local and long-distance calling, and voice,
data and wireless services.
The revised state IT policies, which became effective Dec. 1, 2004, may be obtained online at
www.ohio.gov/itp. The Statewide IT Policy team developed the revisions to State of Ohio IT Policy
ITP-H.2, "Use of State Telephones," and State of Ohio IT Policy ITP-H.6, "Telecommunications Utility
Services," in collaboration with representatives of the OIT Service Delivery Division Network Services
Group. In addition, State of Ohio agency chief information officers provided comments on the policy
revisions.
State of Ohio IT Policy applies to all state agencies except the military department, the general
assembly, the bureau of workers' compensation and institutions administered by boards of trustees.
