OIT Partners with OBM to Further State IT Security Policy Measures
Issue Date: November 27, 2006 Source: IGD, Statewide IT Policy
The Office of Information Technology has been working extensively with the Office of Budget and Management to incorporate the state’s IT security policy requirements into the Office of Budget and Management’s Internal Accounting Control Program. The annual evaluation by cabinet agencies of their respective internal accounting controls includes testing and validation for required IT security measures. In all, the Office of Information Technology contributes more than 70 Ohio IT policy-related measurements to the program. To help kick off the IT security portion of this year’s Internal Accounting Control Program effort, the Office of Information Technology presented State of Ohio IT Security Measures – Helping to Safeguard the Public Trust on November 15, 2006. The presentation featured a review of recent government IT security breaches and the security controls State of Ohio IT policy requires to prevent such breaches.
