IT Security Training Available

Free training is being offered by the Ohio Office of Information Technology to help state agency professionals better understand the management-level issues of IT security.

 

Information Survivability: A New Executive Perspective is a half-day workshop designed for executives, managers and supervisors interested in information survivability and security issues as well as approaches to protect critical information assets. This course comes from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University . SEI is a federally funded research and development center that deals in the reliability and security of information systems. In addition to its work for its sponsor, the U.S. Department of Defense , SEI operates the CERT Coordination Center and has partnered with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in the operation of the U.S. CERT .

 

The workshop is offered as part of E-Secure Ohio, an effort to assure the security of IT assets and processes for the State of Ohio . Statewide IT Policy and Enterprise Operations Security , both offices of the Ohio Office of Information Technology, are co-sponsoring the event. This workshop, which will be offered several times in May, is supported by a grant from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services .
