Ohio Portal

The Ohio Portal program consists of the State Portal and Web Hosting Services.

The State Portal, Ohio.gov, allows Ohio’s citizens, business partners, and employees access to online information and services anytime, anywhere via the Internet. In 2001, the initial release of Ohio.gov introduced an intentions-based architecture. This architecture organizes services and information on the site by topic without requiring user knowledge of government bureaucracy.

Ohio.gov has undergone many changes over the years, In July of 2006, the enterprise search engine was upgraded, increasing the capacity of the searchable index by 66%, and myOhio.gov was rolled out to obtain feedback from visitors to Ohio.gov.

Web Hosting Services are offered to state agencies via the Shared Hosting Environment. The Shared Hosting Environment is a secure, load-balanced, high-availability web environment for agency websites as well as for SQL applications. The Shared Hosting Environment is supported by the General Revenue Fund and is free to state agencies.
