Disaster Recovery Services Disaster Recovery Services are offered for customers of SDD's IBM mainframe environment. Services are made available via SunGard Recovery Services, which provides computer facilities at a remote location as well as a national networking capability. At least twice each year, tests are conducted at that remote location, during which SDD's IBM mainframe computer systems are restored from backup tapes that have been shipped from Columbus. Once those systems are operational at the remote facility, participating agencies restore their production applications and then conduct extensive testing to ensure that those applications have been successfully recovered and would be available in the event of an actual disaster. Staffs from those agencies work from various locations throughout the State of Ohio, as well as the hotsite facilities during the tests, assuring that network connectivity and computer operations could function during an emergency.
