CO-LOCATING ON MARCS OWNED AND OPERATED PROPERTYThe MARCS Program Office (MPO) manages over 200 tower sites statewide, providing ubiqitous voice and data coverage throughout the state. Of these 200 sites, 131 are totally controlled by the state. By the nature of the locations of the towers, and the height provided, many entities are potential users of the excess capacity afforded by these towers. Co-locators must be a provider of public safety services such as police, fire, EMS or other governmental enterprises. This document is to identify the technical requirements for collocation within the shelter, on the tower, and/or on grounds owned, leased or otherwise legally controlled by MARCS. The MARCS Program policy has MPP 17.0 and MPP 19.0 for co-locating on MARCS owned and operated tower sites. The policy explains guidelines for the following areas: basic requirements, shelter equipment, antenna and transmission lines, tower analysis and intermodulation study, site entry, fees for co-location, and administrative requirements. |
