Pulling It All Together - Ohio Statewide Interoperable Communications Plan |
ABOUT MARCS |
||||
| In the wake of Katrina, 9-11, the Virginia Tech massacre, and Ohio’s local disasters, the topic of first responder interoperable communications is inevitably discussed. Historically, public safety agencies and first responders within the same city, county or region have been unable to easily communicate with each other by radio. MARCS provided the tools which alleviated many of the communications problems of the past. The Ohio Department of Public Safety joined with Ohio’s Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee (SIEC) to hire a consultant to conduct an analysis of Ohio’s current interoperability plan. RCC Consultant’s submitted their findings on Ohio’s Statewide Interoperable Communications Plan. The findings discuss the current MARCS system and future integration of MARCS into the next generation of compatible systems. The full plan provides recommendations and long range plans for interoperability as well as a statistical analysis of Ohio’s Interoperable plan. A copy of the full plan and appendices is available here. |
