The Standards Subcommittee of the Multi-Agency CIO Advisory Council established the Printer Working Group to research and recommend an enterprise standard that would help agencies across state government manage and reduce the cost of using printers. |

Comprising members from 15 different state agencies, the Printer Working Group first convened in September 2005 and adopted an enterprise recommendation in April 2006. The recommendation includes a total cost of ownership (TCO) approach as the basis for selecting printers for acquisition by state agencies. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pilot tested by several agencies, the proposed printer standard includes tools to assist agencies in implementing the standard. Representatives of Gartner, Inc., provided input into the development of the printer standard and tools, and leading printer manufacturers provided feedback on the recommended standard and tools. |
